VICTORIA, Kan. (Oct. 9, 2021) –
Colten Brown recorded a top-20 individual finish to lead Oklahoma Christian on Saturday morning in Tiger Open cross country meet, hosted by Fort Hays State (Kan.) at Sand Plum Nature Trail.
Brown, a sophomore from Boise City, Okla., covered the 8,000 meters in 24:49.83 and placed 19th among 183 runners. The race winner, Andrew Amor of New Mexico Highlands, finished in 23:45.84.
OC's No. 2 runner, junior
Jelte van Atten of Leiden, Netherlands, finished 76th in 26:16.76, with freshman
Griffin Chesire of Eldoret, Kenya, 98th in 26:46.56.
Austin McNair, a sophomore from Denton, Texas, finished 111th in 27:02.82, followed by freshman
Cade Berkey of Hydro, Okla. (121st in 27:21.87), sophomore
Kolten Johnson of Lewisburg, Tenn. (134th in 27:41.89), sophomore
Ethan Anthony of Mornington, Australia (149th in 28:14.28) and freshman
Christian Fair of Stillwater, Okla. (156th in 28:28.73.
In the team race, OC finished 11th of 15 teams with a score of 298. Adams State (Colo.) won with a score of 84, just ahead of Nebraska-Kearney (90) and Northwest Missouri State (93).
The Eagles now will begin preparations for the Lone Star Conference Championship meet, which will be held on Oct. 23 in Lawton, Okla., on the same course on which OC raced and won in the season-opening Aggie Duels.
