Kelsey Castillo and
Ivy Lobley represented Oklahoma Christian on the Lone Star Conference's All-Academic team for women's indoor track and field, which was announced Wednesday.
To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.3 grade-point average and be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically. The team is selected by sports information directors from the league's member schools, who consider both athletic and academic achievement while voting.
Castillo, a Nursing major from Edmond, Okla., has a 3.866 GPA. She was an All-Great American Conference second-team honoree in both the indoor mile and distance medley relay in 2019. She made the GAC's Distinguished Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Conference lists in 2019 and twice has earned a Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
She made the Heartland Conference Honor Roll President's List six times in as many semesters and the LSC Commissioner's honor roll for the fall 2019 semester. Castillo also earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2019 cross country season.
Lobley, a Nursing major from Dalhart, Texas, has a 3.851 GPA. She earned first-team All-GAC honors in the indoor 60-meter hurdles in 2019, and in 2017, she made the All-GAC first-team list in the outdoor 100-meter hurdles and 4x100-meter relay and the second-team list in the 400-meter hurdles.
Academically, she made the GAC's Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Conference lists in both 2018 and 2019 and also is a two-time recipient of the D2ADA Academic Achievement award. She made the Heartland Conference President's Honor Roll five times as well as the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll last semester.
