Harvey, Ray compete at Pitt State meet

OC junior Lawanda Harvey finished in the top 20 in the 60 meters at the Indoor Gorilla Classic.
PITTSBURG, Kan. (Feb. 8, 2019) – Lawanda Harvey and Morgan Ray competed for Oklahoma Christian on Friday in Pittsburg State's annual Indoor Gorilla Classic at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Harvey, a junior from Frisco, Texas, won her heat and finished 18th among 73 runners in the 60 meters with a time of 7.90 seconds.

Ray, a freshman from Edmond, posted a mark of 17 feet, 5½ inches (5.32 meters) in the long jump, a collegiate-best mark for her. She placed 22nd among 38 competitors.

The meet will continue on Saturday.
