Box Score WICHITA, Kan. (April 1, 2017) – For the second time in less than 24 hours, Oklahoma Christian pitcher
Madison Hagood dominated Newman (Kan.) on Saturday morning.
Hagood threw her second straight four-hit shutout against the Jets, leading OC to a 3-0 win at the NU Softball Field and giving the Lady Eagles a Heartland Conference series win.
OC (23-16, 6-3 Heartland) moved into a third-place tie with St. Edward's (Texas) in the league standings, one game behind second-place Texas A&M International.
Hagood (11-7), a sophomore left-hander from Comanche, Texas, didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning and only one Newman baserunner advanced as far as third base. It was her 13th complete game and third shutout of the season – with two of those coming against Newman (9-29, 3-6) in the three-game series.
She leads the Heartland in ERA (1.54) and is among the league leaders in strikeouts (92) and wins.
Madison Nordyke walked and eventually scored on an error in the first inning to put OC ahead 1-0 against Newman starter Jensen Cromer (5-14). The Lady Eagles made it 2-0 in the third when Nordyke reached on a leadoff single to center field and scored on a single up the middle by
Bridget White.

OC will begin a five-game homestand on Tuesday, hosting Eastern New Mexico in a nonconference doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, Lubbock Christian (Texas) will visit
Tom Heath Field for what figures to be a key conference series.
