Kelsie Finch hit a three-run homer in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader at Lubbock Christian.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LUBBOCK, Texas (March 24, 2016) – Lubbock Christian (Texas) held off a seventh-inning Oklahoma Christian rally and beat the Lady Eagles 5-4 in the second game of a softball doubleheader on Thursday at PlainsCapital Park.

The Lady Chaparrals won the opening game of the Heartland Conference series 5-1. OC will try to salvage the series' final game at noon on Friday.

OC (14-18, 9-5 Heartland) remained in third place in the league standings, while Lubbock Christian (32-7, 9-2) solidified its hold on second place. Lubbock Christian has won 15 straight games, while OC has dropped seven straight.

In the second game, Kelsie Finch's three-run homer in the fourth inning put OC ahead 3-1. But Lubbock Christian answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning, two on a home run by Liz Torres and two more on a triple by Lindzi Clemmer.

Lubbock Christian starter Katlyn Holmes (13-2) ran into trouble in the seventh as OC took advantage of two errors by the Lady Chaparrals, with Bridget White scoring with two outs on a miscue by LCU third baseman Morgan Colburn. But Katera Eltsosie relieved Holmes and before Eltsosie threw a pitch, Torres, LCU's catcher, picked off Avery Walker from second base. Eltsosie picked up her third save.

OC reliever Madison Nordyke (1-7) took the loss despite allowing only one hit in three innings of work.

Eltsosie (17-3) threw a three-hitter for Lubbock Christian in the opener, missing the shutout only because Sheridan Bond led off the game with a home run for the Lady Eagles.

OC pitcher Madison Hagood (9-7) had a no-hitter going until there was one out in the fifth inning, when Katlin Reed singled up the middle for Lubbock Christian. Sammie Murrietta followed with another single and both scored on a single by Clemmer.

The Lady Chaparrals added three more runs in the sixth, two on a double by Torres.
