OC-TWU Highlights
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Nov. 10, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian men's basketball team overtook No. 10 Texas Wesleyan University 75-59 on Tuesday night in the Eagles' Nest.
From the tip, the Eagles were never down against the Rams. Chad Endres got things started up for OC with a 3-point basket to begin the Eagles' streak.
The game was held close for most of the first half, with the Eagles never extending their lead to more than seven points until they led by 10 in the last seconds of the period. Jason Taylor contributed 11 points in the first half with Devan White putting up seven.
Endres put up six points and handed out four assists in the first period and teammate Andre Vaughn netted six points as well to put the Eagles up 35-28 at half.
The Eagles caught fire in the second half, shooting 52 percent from the field and 60 percent behind the arc. Vaughn shot 4 for 6 from the 3-point line, grabbing 12 points for the Eagles.
David Jackson put up 2 for 2 from three-point range to give him a nine point total for the night in addition to his five rebounds and four assists. Endres also talled nine points for the evening while also handing out five assists and grabbing five rebounds.
Thanks to high scorers Taylor and White, the Eagles led by as much as 22 points. Taylor put up 19 points while giving out five assists. White scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds.
The Eagles maintained their lead throughout the game and finished with a 16 point lead, giving the Eagles their second win of the season.
The Eagles will host Southwest (N.M.) at 8 p.m. Friday in the Nest.
