The Lady Eagle softball team's bid for a third-straight appearance in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament championship game came up just short Saturday with a 3-2 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Earlier in the day, top-seeded St. Gregory's blanked Oklahoma Christian 8-0 to send the Lady Eagles into the loser's bracket of the double-elimination tourney.

St. Gregory's went on to beat NWOSU 10-0 to claim its second straight SAC tournament championship. The Lady Eagles lost to SGU in last year's title game after winning the 2005 tournament.

Oklahoma Christian ends the 2007 season with a 21-29 record (6-18 in conference play).
