Lady Eagles win in SAC Tourney

Oklahoma Christian reeled off back-to-back wins in the Sooner Athletic Conference Softball Tournament Friday, taking a 3-1 victory over USAO and a 9-5 decision over Oklahoma Baptist at Hall of Fame Stadium.

With sophomore lefthander Linzi Farris earning the victories in each game, the Lady Eagles advanced to play at noon Saturday against top-seeded St. Gregory's.

Junior Stephanie Branham's two-run single in the sixth inning provided the winning margin in the first game.  Junior Rachel Smith belted a grand slam to put OC ahead of OBU 5-3 in the second game.  With the scored tied 5-5, Sandra Darmstadt drove in Tracy Washam with the go-ahead run.  After the Lady Eagles loaded the bases, Lindsey Edmondson's sacrifice fly scored Angie Plowman.  OC added two more runs to win, 9-5.
