The Oklahoma Christian University Lady Eagles enjoyed a successful weekend, winning four of five games in the Oklahoma City Domino's Softball Tournament March 23-24.
OC profited from timely pitching and strong hitting to improve to 16-14 on the season.
Sophomore lefthander Linzi Farris recorded her first shutout of the season with a 7-0, three-hit performance against Dordt (Iowa). Freshman Sophia Johnson followed with her first collegiate no-hitter, a 1-0 win over Newman (Kan.).
In OC's only loss, Northwestern Oklahoma State used a solo home run to break up a pitchers' duel between Farris and Lady Ranger Becky Holland.
Senior Angie Plowman's record-setting hitting spree powered the Lady Eagles to a 12-hit, 11-3 victory over Southern Nazarene. Plowman set OC single-game records with three home runs, nine runs batted in and four runs scored. Johnson was the winning pitcher.
Sophomore Tracy Washam's two-run double in the top of the seventh triggered the Lady Eagles' 4-2 victory over Ottawa (Kan.). Farris started for OC, but Johnson earned the victory in relief.
