Lady Eagles rally, sweep OBU

Down but not out, the Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles scored 10 runs in the last two innings to take a first-game 11-9 win from Oklahoma Baptist, then followed with a 14-3 victory in game two in Shawnee April 11.

Trailing 6-1 in the opener, OC used a six-run, six-hit outburst to go up 7-6 in the top of the seventh inning. OBU tied it 7-all in the bottom of the inning, but the Lady Eagles added four more runs in the top of the eighth.

Senior Sara Waters singled in Angie Plowman and senior Rachel Seeber drove in three runs with her second double of the game for an 11-7 OC lead.

Sophomore Erin Bryan pitched the bottom of the eighth, surrendering two runs but protecting the two-run margin. Lindsey Lawson (1-3) won her first game of the season after being sidelined for four weeks.

Coach Tom Heath's squad launched a 15-hit attack to take game two as Bryan (4-3) picked up the win in relief of Linzi Farris. Lawson went 4-for-4 with three RBI's and Plowman had three hits in four trips with two RBI's. Sandra Darmstadt, Seeber and Tracy Washam each had a pair of base hits.

The Lady Eagles are now 16-20 and 6-12 in conference play.
