A last inning rally fell short as Oklahoma Christian University lost a 5-4 decision to St. Gregory's University and was eliminated from the NAIA Region VI Tournament in Farmers Branch, Texas May 12.
The Lady Eagles closed the season with a 25-28 record after a late season run led them to the championship of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, defeating No. 9 ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in the finals.
At the Region tournament, freshman Lindsey Lawson (14-10) pitched OC to a 7-3 victory over the No. 15 ranked Bacone College Warriors. Lawson struck out five and scattered nine hits by Bacone. Freshman Stephanie Branham led the Lady Eagles, going three for three at the plate.
OC was run-ruled in the second round, falling 9-0 to No. 2 ranked Houston Baptist University and sending the Lady Eagles into the loser's bracket to meet SGU.
