Oklahoma Christian came away with a 3-2 record from the Captial City Classic on April 16-17. The Lady Eagles claimed wins over Park University (Mo.), Kansas Wesleyan and Friends (Mo.) to raise their season record to 17-24.
OC defeated Park 2-0 on Lacey Botchlet's two out double in the first inning with Courtney Quine earning the shutout victory. The Lady Eagles defeated Kansas Wesleyan 5-0 behind the three-hit pitching of Stephanie Gault. Quine and Molly Chapman each belted homeruns.
Heather Meyer won her first game of the season, a 10-2 decision over Friends. Gault came in in relief to protect the win. Ginny Herndon and Angie Plowman each contributed two hits each and Rachel Seeber had three runs batted in with a bases clearing double.
The Lady Eagles fell to Northwestern Oklahoma 1-0 in a pitcher's duel between Gault and Lady Ranger's Ashely Taylor. The other loss came at the hands of No. 8 ranked Oklahoma City by a 7-0 count.
