Lady Eagles Sweep OBU

One-hit, no-run relief pitching by senior Heather Meyer enabled Oklahoma Christian to sweep Oklahoma Baptist University, 9-5 and 7-3, in a Sooner Athletic Conference double-header here April 22.

Making a stretch run for a playoff berth, the Lady Eagles are 10-12 in league play and 20-24 overall.

In the first game Meyer took over in the fourth inning with the score knotted at 5-5. The Lady Eagles backed her performance up to score two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings for the win.

In the second game, OBU jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning to bring on Meyer in the top of the second. OC rebounded to score five runs in the bottom of the second on five hits and an error. Triples by Sandra Darmstadt and Allissa Harper keyed the Lady Eagles' comeback. A two-run double by Lindsey Lawson provided the late game lead for Meyer, who won her second and third game of the season.
