Lady Eagles split doubleheader with Southwestern

The OC softball team opened the season with a doubleheader split at Southwestern Oklahoma State Thursday.

OC scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to capture the opener 5-3. Angie Plowman and Lindsey Edmondson hit home runs for the Lady Eagles while Rachel Seeber earned the win in relief of starter Linzi Farris.

SWOSU won the nightcap 3-1 despite a homer by OC's Allissa Harper. Starting pitcher Erin Bryan suffered the loss.

The Lady Eagles open their home schedule with another doubleheader against Southwestern Oklahoma Tuesday at 2 and 4 p.m.
