Oklahoma Christian continued its hold on first place in the Sooner Athletic Conference race with an 89-84 victory over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma here Feb. 3. Now 8-2 in conference play, the Eagles upped their overall record to 20-2.
NAIA All-American Jarred Merrill registered a career high 40 points along with 14 rebounds to pace OC offensively. He was ably assisted by sophomore Charles Baldwin who scored 21 points and junior Brady Page with 15 points. Baldwin connected on five field goals from beyond the three-point line and Page had a career high 11 assists.
The Eagles shot 60 percent from the second half and finished a 52 percent figure for the game. At the charity line OC was 18 of 26.
