A pressure packed finish fell one point short as Oklahoma Christian was defeated by USAO, 68-67 in Chickasha, Okla. Jan. 8.

With All-America candidate Jarred Merrill scoring 24 of his 34 points in the second half, the Eagles comeback bid was derailed by three USAO free throws in the final 20 seconds.

Merrill recorded his ninth double-double of the season with 34 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman Keith Harris recorded a season high 13 points including three, three-point field goals.

The Eagles are 12-2 in regular season play and 1-1 in SAC competition.
