OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Jan. 19, 2008) – Oklahoma Christian routed John Brown (Ark.) 72-53 Saturday night in Sooner Athletic Conference action. The win halted a four-game OC losing skid.

Jason Taylor buried a career-best 30 points in the win. The postman also snagged a game-high 11 rebounds. The double-double was Taylor's fifth of the season.

OC moved to 3-6 in the SAC and 6-10 overall with the victory. JBU fell to 2-7 and 9-8.

"Obviously a huge game from Jason tonight, he was outstanding," OC head coach Dan Hays said. "This was a great team effort though. I thought our execution in the second half was close to flawless."

The Eagles began the game on a 10-2 run. Taylor's big scoring night got the charge started with a two off the glass at the 19:25 mark.

The sophomore then passed out of a double team to David Jackson who buried a three pointer with 18:29 on the clock to make it 5-0.

With OC up 10-2, JBU's Joel Tesis went on a one-man 9-0 charge to give the Golden Eagles an 11-10 lead at the 15:17 point.

The one-point lead was the Golden Eagles' only advantage of the game.

The Eagles quickly responded with eight unanswered points of their own. Jackson connected again from downtown at the 10:10 mark to push the lead to 21-13.

The teams traded scores over the next five minutes before John Powell hit a three pointer with 5:49 left to give OC its largest lead of the half at 29-17.

After a Taylor putback with 2:01 left put OC up 34-24, both teams went cold to close the half. The 34-24 score held to intermission.

The Eagles' lead never fell under nine points in the second half.

Taylor slammed home two off a pass from Kyle Tefft at the 14:09 mark to give OC a 45-32 edge.

Over the next 10 minutes, the OC lead hovered between nine and 13 points.

At 5:15, the Eagles grabbed their biggest lead of the game when Tefft stole a JBU pass, spun, and fired a full-court bounce pass to Jackson who scored to make it a 16-point lead at 63-47.

OC led by as many as 21 in the closing five minutes and cruised to the 19-point win.

Jackson finished with a career-high 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range. Jeff Crocker added 11 points and Powell netted seven points.

Tesis paced JBU with 18 points.

The win was the Eagles' sixth in the teams' last eight meetings. OC leads the overall series with JBU 34-14.
