Winning on the road is never easy but Oklahoma Christian registered victories over 17th ranked Union University and Freed-Hardeman University at the Freed-Hardeman Classic in Henderson, Tenn. Dec. 10-11.
Ranked No. 4 in the latest NAIA poll, the Eagles defeated Union 75-65 behind Jarred Merril's 31 points and prevailed 69-65 in the closing minutes over Freed-Hardeman. OC extended its undefeated record to 12-0.
Against Union, Merrill received ample assistance from junior point guard Brady Page, who scored 23 points. Merrill and Page each were 4 of 8 from three-point range.
OC had four players in double figures against FHU but Page's two free throws with eight second to play broke a 65-65 tie and gave the Eagles a final lead. Junior Dillon Ripley added two more at the free throw line for the 69-65 final.
Page and sophomore Keith Harris each had 15 points, followed by Merrill with 13 and sophomore Charles Baldwin with 10.
