A pair of first half goals by Kristin Brown proved decisive as the Lady Eagles dominated play against the Stars.
Oklahoma Christian jumped to an early lead eight minutes into the contest when freshman forward Stephanie Duncan was fouled in a run through the box. Brown took the penalty kick and passed the OCU goalie with a driving shot into the left corner of the net.
In the 28th minute, former Edmond standout Heather Spencer secured the ball near midfield, evaded a defender and dribbled down the left sideline. She sent a hard cross toward midfield and Brown stepped up to send it goalward. Brown's shot caromed off the left pole and into the net for her second score.
OCU's only score came on an own goal by the Lady Eagles in the 81st minute. OC freshman Kacie Hoppe intercepted an OCU through pass and touched it back to the OC goal. The ball overshot OC goalkeeper Lisa Jorgenson and rolled into the goal for an OCU score.
Eagle All-American Matt Clark recorded his second hat trick of the season to hand OCU a 4-1 loss. Clark scored three times in the first half as the Eagles gained control of the game. Clark scored in the 18th minute off a assist by Adam Barnes and in the 26th minute when he headed a corner kick from Cristian Fernandes into the net.
Clark's third goal came off a crossing pass from Edmond freshman Preston Okwuonu. Clark controlled the ball, touched it past an OCU defender and shot hard into the left side of the net.
OC senior Brady Nikkel added a cushion to the Eagles' lead with a goal three minutes into the second half. Okwuonu recorded his second assist and Nikkel scored his eighth goal of the season. Ryan Trudgian scored OCU's only goal on a corner kick in the 50th minute of play.
