Eagles continue offensive hot streak, move to 3-0 on the year

EDMOND, Okla.- Oklahoma Christian continued their offensive hot streak netting three goals on the night and securing a 3-1 home victory Wednesday night against Newman University. The Eagles were led by Luis Alvis, the Junior midfielder who scored two goals on the night. OC also added a third goal via Kenzo Shabazz-Edwards bringing his goal total to three on the year having scored a goal in all 3 matches of the 2026-27 season.

Newman struck first late in the 1st half on a goal from Adam Zaid leading to a 1-0 deficit at the half. Oklahoma Christian came out in the 2nd half aggressively, scoring their first goal of the match at the 59:58 mark. OC kept the pressure on and netted their second goal of the night on a beautiful strike from Luis Alvis with an assist from Luca Winder. The Eagles used that momentum and struck again two minutes later at the 80 minute mark with a game-sealing goal from Kenzo Shabazz-Edwards.

OC allowed only 1 shot in the second half opposed to the 7 allowed in the first demonstrating the aggressive defense they played in the second half. This win moves the Eagles to 3-0 on the year giving them their best start in program history in the D2 era.

Oklahoma Christian (3-0, 0-0 LSC) will travel to Tahlequah, Oklahoma to take on Northeastern State on Saturday, September 5 at 7 P.M.
