Eagles bounce back with blowout victory

CHICKASHA, Okla. (Jan. 9, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian men's basketball team pounded the University of Science and Arts (Okla.) 75-50 in Saturday night's game hosted in Chickasha.

The Eagles quickly bounced back after Thursday's disappointing loss against Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) to show their true capabilities against USAO.

The Eagles traversed through four ties and five lead changes before taking the lead and holding on to it. With 6:00 left in the first period, Chad Endres hit two free throws to put the Eagles in the lead. By the end of the first half, the Eagles led by 14 at 35-21.

During the second half, the Eagles maintained a large lead, not allowing the Drovers within 12 points of them. The Eagles increased their lead to 25 points with four minutes left in the game and did not allow the Drovers within 23 points before finishing with a 75-50 victory.

Jason Taylor controlled the interior with a huge double-double game scoring 20 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Taylor also made four assists during the game.

Chad Endres continued his high scoring routine with a 17-point game in which he also had eight rebounds.

Perimeter duo Jeff Crocker and David Jackson added another 14 and 13 points, respectively, to the Eagles' score. Crocker passed out nine assists with Jackson making four for the night.

The Eagles sit at 15-1 overall and 7-1 for conference play and get the chance to tack on another win on Thursday night when they will face Oklahoma City University at home in the Eagles' Nest. The men's game will follow the women's tipping off at 8 p.m.
