Randall posts double-double, Johnson shines as OC routs Langston

Derek Johnson scored 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range to help Oklahoma Christian rout Langston 84-62 Thursday night.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 17, 2011) – Eric Randall posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, leading five Oklahoma Christian players in double figures in scoring as the Eagles routed Langston 84-62 on Thursday night.

The win on Dan Hays Court in the Eagles' Nest was the second for Oklahoma Christian (4-1) over Langston (0-5) in 10 days. But unlike a four-point win over the Lions on Nov. 8, Thursday's game was never in doubt for OC.

The Eagles started the game on a 25-6 run and scored the final 13 points of the first half to lead 42-18 at halftime.

OC shot 50 percent from the field (16 of 32), including 45.5 percent (5 of 11) from 3-point range. Within the first six minutes, center Derek Johnson hit two 3-pointers and he added a third trey to make it 25-6 at the 11:14 mark.

Langston pulled within 47-31 with 15:05 left on a steal and layup by Paul Campbell, but came no closer. OC's lead swelled to 30 points at 68-38 with 8:55 left on a breakaway layup by Randall, who matched his career high in points and recorded his second double-double of the season.

Johnson scored a career-high 18 points on 4-of-6 3-point shooting. Kendre Talley and Nick Tate both scored 13 points while Devan White added 11 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.

David Harris led Langston with 11 points, while Campbell and Kevin Caruthers had nine points each. The Lions went 23 of 71 (32.4 percent) from the field.

OC will open Sooner Athletic Conference play on Monday at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
