Eagles upset by John Brown

BETHANY, Okla. (March 4, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian men's basketball team fell to John Brown University (Ark.) in the first round of the conference tournament on Thursday in a 67-44 decision.

The first ten minutes of the first half saw play similar to that of the two teams' last meeting in a back and forth bout that left the game tied up at 18-18 with 10:26 left to play.

The Golden Eagles then proceeded on a 13-0 run to lead 31-18 with 3:02 on the clock. JBU increased the margin to 15 points at 37-22 before the clock expired for the first half.

At the start of the second half, the Eagles went on an 8-1 run to cut JBU's lead to eight. With 13:46 left in the game the Eagles trailed JBU 40-32 before the Golden Eagles used the next four minutes to go on a 15-2 run and lead OC by 21 points.

The Eagles were unable to recover the deficit and trailed the Golden Eagles by as much as 25 points before the clock ran out. The final decision left the Eagles with a 67-44 first round loss.

Heading the Eagles' scoring was point man Jeff Crocker who put up 10 points. Jason Taylor added another nine points to the Eagles score and grabbed six rebounds in the process.

Andre Vaughn scored eight points and tallied five rebounds while Devan White grabbed seven rebounds and put up another five points for the Eagles.

The loss leaves the Eagles at 22-9 and 14-9 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
