RICHARDSON, Texas - Oklahoma Christian met UT Dallas Friday, Sept. 26, for OC's 2025 Lone Star Conference opener and UT Dallas' first ever LSC match given the Comets' inaugural year in the league. The Eagles welcomed the first-year conference member with a 25-20, 25-22, 25-23 sweep from inside the UT Dallas Athletic Center.
Annie Davis yet again led the Eagles with a match-high 14 kills. Davis now has 119 kills on the season and is averaging exactly five kills per set in her last three matches. Additionally, Davis tied
Camryn McGough with a team-high three blocks.
Summer van Meerveld recorded the first double-double of her collegiate career with a 17-assist, 10-dig performance.
Kathryn Christie led the way in the efficiency category after hitting .313 with seven kills while
Lauren Cary claimed five aces - the most from an Eagle this season.
After winning the first two sets, the Comets appeared to break through for what looked like would be a third-set victory. Leading 23-19, OC closed on a 6-0 run, during which UTD used both of its timeouts, yet to no avail. Cary's fifth service ace of the match signaled victory for the maroon-and-gray as the Eagles left Richardson with their seventh sweep of the 2025 campaign.
Oklahoma Christian (8-2, 1-0 LSC) will turn around and face UT Tyler Saturday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. before returning home for its home conference opener against No. 20 Angelo State Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m.
