TYLER, Texas - On the second day of its Texas road trip, Oklahoma Christian dropped its first conference match of the season against UT Tyler, 3-0.
Lauren Cary was a lone bright spot for an Eagles offense that hit just .060 on the afternoon, as Cary led the maroon-and-gray with seven kills on a .278 hitting percentage, along with two solo blocks.
Oklahoma Christian scored the first points of the match, but that was unfortunately the only lead of the contest OC would see. After a 4-4 tie in the opening frame, an 11-3 UTT run gave the hometown Patriots the opening set, 25-12.
Tyler claimed the next two sets, 25-10 and 25-17, as OC returns to the Sooner State with the two-match split after sweeping UT Dallas Friday.
The Eagles (8-3, 1-1 LSC) will face No. 20 Angelo State inside the Payne Athletic Center this Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. before welcoming UT Permian Basin into The Nest for the second time this year, this time in what will be a conference match, Saturday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m.
