PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Oklahoma Christian men's golf's 2024-25 season officially came to an end Thursday, May 22 with its fourth consecutive trip to the National Quarterfinals after falling to No. 1 Colorado Christian, 3-1-1.
The Eagles reached the top-eight after the final round of stroke play where the maroon-and-gray carded an electric 6-under 282 to climb up five spots from 13th to eighth. Joining OC with the low third round was Colorado Christian, who climbed into the top spot to set an in-region quarterfinal matchup.
Oskari Nikku logged the sole win for the Eagles against CCU's Peyton Jones by a whopping 11 strokes after shooting a 1-over 73.
Vertti Perala recorded his best round of the 2025 Championships with a 1-over 73 to tie Sungyeop Cho, who entered the week ranked as the No. 2 player in DII via Scoreboard powered by Clippd.
Leandro Mihaich recorded the best round of any Oklahoma Christian golfer in the quarterfinal round, recording an even-par 72. Trailing by three strokes heading into the final hole, Mihaich birdied 18 while Sangha Park bogeyed to leave the two-time GCAA PING All-American one stroke shy of knotting up the match.
The maroon-and-gray leave the Sunshine State with its fourth consecutive top-eight finish while Nikku and Mihaich became the first OC duo to be named First Team All-Americans in the NCAA DII era.
