No. 16 Men's Golf Posts Season-Best T5 Finish in Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas - Three tournaments into the 2025-26 season, No. 16 Oklahoma Christian posted its best finish of the season to date after tying for fifth place at the Ryan Palmer Invitational with a 54-hole score of 6-under 846.

The Eagles finished third among Lone Star Conference teams while tying with UT Tyler. Oklahoma Christian was only one of three teams in the 16-player field to shoot under par in all three rounds over in West Texas.

The maroon-and-gray saw three players tie for 15th in Vertti Perala, Juan Repetto and Jake Yrene. Yrene was one of 13 players to shoot at or below for all three rounds, including a personal-best in an Eagles uniform 2-under 69 during round two.

Repetto was tied for third in the 89-player field with 15 birdies and played the par 4s 4-under par for the tournament. Yrene was tied for third in the field with 39 pars while V. Perala was tied for seventh after playing the par 3s at 1-under.

Lenni Perala finished 37th at 3-over 216 while Carson Lee rounded out the Eagle five bag with a 7-over 220 for a 59th position. Colin Richards, who was playing as an individual, finished tied for 29th with a 1-over 214 with rounds of even-par 71, even-par 71 and 1-over 72.

No. 16 Oklahoma Christian will return to the Lone Star State one more time this fall when it takes on the DBU Classic Oct. 27-28 for its final tournament of the semester.
