NORMAN, Okla. - Ahead of No. 6 Oklahoma Christian's fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II National Championships,
Leandro Mihaich and
Oskari Nikku were named Golf Coaches Association of America PING All-South Central Region honorees, the organization announced Wednesday, May 14.
The Eagles were tied for the second-most All-Region recipients of any team, trailing only No. 1 Colorado Christian. This is the sixth year in a row OC has landed at least two men's golfer on the All-Region list.
Mihaich has been with the Oklahoma Christian program for two seasons and has received All-Region accolades in both campaigns. The Bell Ville, Argentina, native doubled up on the region honor after defending his title as the Lone Star Conference Individual Champion before becoming a two-time First Team All-LSC selection.
Less than a month later, Nikku won OC's next event with the South Central/West Regional, pacing the 100-player dual-region field with a 17-under 199 across 54 holes, to garner his third All-Region nod. The region title was the Tuusula, Finland, native's second tournament victory of the 2024-25 campaign, winning the all-Division I field Nassau Intercollegiate back in October.
Mihaich and Nikku will now advance to the GCAA All-America ballot, which will be announced at the 2025 NCAA DII National Championships in West Palm Beach, Fla., May 19-23. Mihaich and Nikku were named First Team and Third Team All-Americans in 2024, respectively.
