ROCKWALL, Texas - After an opening-round 3-over 291, No. 7 Oklahoma Christian carded a field-low 3-under 285 in the second round to close the opening day of the 2025 Lone Star Conference Championships in second place with an even-par 576.

Oklahoma Christian carded three total eagles in the second round after being without in round one. Across the back nine of the second 18-hole stint, the Eagles' countable four scorers recorded nine birdies compared to just four bogeys or double bogeys, leading to OC's four countable scorers among the top-10. 

Oskari Nikku led the back-nine charge with five birdies during that stretch to comprise his eight-birdie second round for a 2-under 70 second round. Joey Lewis and Leandro Mihaich each carded two birdies and an eagle on the exact same holes to record sub-par second rounds.

After the first 36 holes of the championships, Lewis is leading all OC golfers with a 3-under 141 to stand alone at second place in the 56-player field. The graduate student Sooner State product finished both his rounds under par, completing his opening two rounds with six birdies, just five bogeys and 24 pars.

Mihaich is second among the Eagle five-bag with an even-par 144, putting together a 2-under 70 second round following a 2-over 74 first round for a spot in third place. Mihaich shot four bogeys in his first five holes, but just two bogeys the rest of the way while carding four birdies, one eagle and 24 pars in his final 31 holes on day one.

Nikku joined Mihaich with a 2-under 70 second round to close the first two rounds as the fourth Eagle inside the top-10. Two strokes behind Nikku is two-time defending LSC Men's Golf Academic Player of the Year Exequiel Rodriguez at 2-over 146 for a spot at eighth place.

Vertti Perala completed the Eagle five-bag with a 36-hole 8-over 152, responding to a first-round 6-over 78 with a second-round 2-over 74.

No. 7 Oklahoma Christian will return to the site of the 2025 LSC Men's Golf Championships Tuesday, Apr. 15 for round three starting at 8:30 a.m. CT. Following the final round of stroke play, the top four teams will advance to Match Play, with the semifinals and finals taking place Wednesday, Apr. 16.
