BOULDER CITY, Nev. - On a day where nine teams shot 9-under 279 or better, No. 7 Oklahoma Christian closed the Desert Classic in eighth place with a 54-hole score of 11-under 853.

After a first-round 9-over 297 that set the Eagles back to 14th place, the maroon-and-gray played the final two rounds 20-under 556, which was tied with No. 1 and tournament champion Colorado Christian for the best final two rounds of the 20-team field.

Leandro Mihaich was named one of six All-Tournament recipients after finishing tied for fifth in the 100-player field. Mihaich carded two eagles in his final round to play the final 18 3-under 69, having played all three rounds of the Desert Classic under par.

Oskari Nikku's weekend reflected that of the team's as the Tuusula, Finland, native responded to a first-round 3-over 75 with back-to-back sub-par rounds, finishing with a 2-under 70 for a total event score of 3-under 213.

Joey Lewis completed his 2024-25 tournament debut with a final-round even-par 72, placing in a tie for 46th at 2-over 218, playing each of his last two rounds at or below par.

Vertti Perala finished the weekend in 78th with a 10-over 226 while Exequiel Rodriguez, after forfeiting an individual score due to withdrawing in the first round, contributed to the team's 9-under 279 final round with a 2-under 7, playing both of his countable rounds below par.

No. 7 Oklahoma Christian will return to the Sooner State, where it will stay for its next tournament when the Eagles host the Oak Tree Invitational at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Okla., Mar. 17-18.
