EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian begins divisional play this weekend, meeting its second NCBWA top-15 team of the 2025 season when it faces No. 14 St. Edward's down in Austin, Texas, Mar. 14-16.
EAGLE OUTLOOK (5-15, 5-15 LSC)
Oklahoma Christian led for eight and a half innings of game one and four's scheduled 16 innings this past weekend, but Texas A&M-Kingsville left the Sooner State with four victories. In three of their last four losses, the Eagles have led by at least four runs in three of the contests, including two games where the maroon-and-gray carried a lead into the second-to-last inning of play.
Four Eagles are hitting better than .300, led by first-year Eagle and former Texas-Arlington transfer
Cason Gregory at .343 with a team-high 23 hits. Gregory is backed up by four-year Eagle
Hunter Jones, who is hitting .322 and is third in the LSC with seven home runs and fourth with a .746 slugging percentage.
Recent additions to the offense have been true freshman
Grant Voss and junior
Ryan Carolan. Voss made his debut in the starting lineup in the series finale against TAMUK, where he went 3-for-3 at the dish while also working two walks to get on base five times. Carolan, who has started four of OC's last nine games, has seen a hit in each of his four starts, including two multi-hit games.
The Eagles have not defeated St. Edward's in Austin since 2021. That year, Oklahoma Christian swept the Hilltoppers in a three-game series. Game one of the four-game series will be the 48th all-time meeting, with SEU currently sporting a three-game win streak over OC.
SCOUTING No. 14 ST. EDWARD'S (19-7, 18-6 LSC)
St. Edward's has climbed into the top-15 of the national poll after winning 15 of its last 18 conference games with a its most recent four-game sweep of Sul Ross State. The Hiltoppers have shown to be just as potent at home versus on the road, boasting a 9-5 record at Lucian-Hamilton Field and 10-2 on the road.
St. Edward's can credit its conference fifth-ranked offense and fourth-ranked pitching for its best 24-game conference start since 2023. The Hilltoppers are hitting .308 as a team while having recorded the second-most RBI of any team in the conference, along with a team-ERA of 5.07 and the third-most strikeouts. Senior ace Kobe Jaramillo holds a league-second-best 2.25 ERA and is 5-0 on the mound this season.
