DAY ONE RESULTS
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Oklahoma Christian men's and women's swimming completed the first half of its two-day competition with national powerhouse Drury Friday afternoon. The men trail the Panthers, 110-35, while the women are down 97-47 heading into day two.
Both 400 medley relay teams started the afternoon with third-place swims before
Tammy Greenwood for the women claimed the first individual victory for the Eagles. Greenwood took the 1000-yard style at 10:21.77, earning an NCAA "B" cut for Nationals come the second week of March.
Freshman
Austyn Mallette added another Top-3 finish for the women as she claimed a runner-up finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:11.15. Moments later,
Gui Martins took the first win for the men in the same event, touching the wall at 1:50.56
In the final event of the night for the women,
Vanessa Weatherford, Nayeli Matos,
Laura Byars and Greenwood placed second in the 200 free relay, finishing in 1:36.67.
Oklahoma Christian will return to Breech Pool for day two between the Eagles and the Panthers Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. in OC's final regular season action before the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships.
