RICHARDSON, Texas - With Oklahoma Christian baseball's 2025 home opener being two weeks away, the Eagles were picked to finish 12th in the 2025 Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches, sports information directors and media members.

Angelo State was picked to win its eighth LSC title, collecting 29 of the possible 39 first-place votes. Defending conference champion Lubbock Christian was tabbed second with five first-place votes. West Texas A&M, UT Tyler and St. Edward's rounded out the top five.

Looking to improve on an 11-39 season from a year ago, the Eagles will look to lean on the veteran leadership of preseason player to watch senior catcher Hunter Jones our of Norman, Okla., and preseason pitcher to watch senior Chris Jones of Sapulpa, Okla. H. Jones started 47 games for OC last year, hitting .370 with a team-high 57 hits, while C. Jones recorded 38 strikeouts in 37.2 innings pitched with a 5.73 ERA.

In addition to H. Jones and his team-leading 45 runs scored, Oklahoma Christian's offense gets another boost returning second-leading hitter outfielder Justin Spencer, who started 43 games for the maroon-and-gold, hitting .338 with 53 hits and a team-high 41 RBI.

Bringing a new energy to the OC baseball program is senior transfer Cason Gregory from UT Arlington. As a senior at UTA, Gregory, a former all-state honorable mention out of Cleburne High School in Cleburne, Texas, started 35 games at shortstop, batting .221 across 122 at-bats and holding a career-high .964 fielding percentage.

Joining Gregory through the transfer portal is former UTA teammates first baseman Reed Thomas and pitcher Sam Collins, as well as outfielder Michael Adair from the University of Dayton. Adair, appearing in 48 games for the Flyers last year, was a career .242 hitter in two years with Dayton.

Oklahoma Christian will get the season underway with a four-game weekend series at Dobson Baseball Field against conference foe St. Mary's. First pitch of the 2025 season is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m.
