Winter Garden, Florida - Oklahoma Christian men's golf, making its third consecutive trip to the NCAA DII Men's Golf Championships, finished round one at the top of the leaderboard.
The Eagles were led by
Blas Ayesa, who individually was T5 at the end of the day, shooting a 67 (-4), shooting a clean round with birdies on holes one, four, nine, and sixteen.
Exequiel Rodriguez tied for twelfth after his opening round, finishing with a 69 (-2) with four birdies as well.
Verrti Perala was next on the leaderboard, coming in at T19 with a 70 (-1), with two birdies in his final four holes to close out his round.
Oskari shot even par to end his round T29, going fourteen holes without a bogey after one on the first hole, with three birdies in that stretch.
Leandro Mihaich had a strong back-nine that featured an eagle to finish with a 72 (+1) to put him at T43 on the leaderboard.
Oklahoma Christian will play three rounds of stroke play (one each day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) with the individual national champion being crowned after those rounds. The top eight teams will compete in match play quarterfinals on Friday morning, the four winners will play in the semifinals on Friday afternoon, and the winners of the semifinals will match up in the national championship on Saturday.
