Box Score 2 Canyon, Texas - Oklahoma Christian (7-31, 7-29) wrapped up their series with No.4 West Texas A&M University (29-9, 28-8) with a doubleheader on Friday.
Game 3
The Eagles continued to find a good rhythm to start the game, getting leadoff Hank Heiselbetz on base and brought around to score with a Hunter Jones sacrifice fly to grab the early 1-0 lead.
The Buffs would go on to score in their first two at-bats to take the lead back from the Eagles.
With the score of 1-4, the Eagles would enter the third inning looking for a few runs to cross the plate.
With two outs in the top of the third, the Eagles found momentum again from lead-off man, Heiselbetz, getting on base with a double to right center field with Sloan Laird up to bat next, who bashed a 2-run RBI home run to left field to bring the Eagles within one.
West Texas would put up four more runs by the seventh inning to hold a 3-8 lead.
The Eagles would score two in the seventh with RBIs from Hunter Jones and Ethan Box before falling short in game three.
Game 4
OC found themselves down after the first inning but answered in the second with two runs on the board. Johnny Behm got things started with a single into left. Behm showed off his speed by scoring from first off a Braden Fowler double to center field. Hank Heiselbetz ripped a single into right field to bring Fowler across the plate and tie the game at two.
Later in the third, Fowler would bring another run across with a fielder choice, scoring Hunter Jones.
Going into the top of the fifth the Eagles would find themselves down 3-7, looking to score a few and cut into the lead. OC would find some offense with Behm once again hitting a ball into the outfield and scoring Jones. Fowler would put a ball in play causing pressure to get to the defense, forcing the third baseman to throw the ball away and allow Behm to cross home plate.
WT would continue to score and hold a five-run lead going into the seventh as OC found a way to score three more runs and go into the final few innings just down two runs. Fowler would once again come up clutch for the Eagles, hitting a ground-rule double to score Justin Spencer. Colby Feris, up to bat next, hit a single to right center for a 2-run RBI.
West Texas put a few more runs on the board before shutting down the Eagles and taking the series sweep.
