Lady Eagles Wrap Up Season Against Lions

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (5-20, 4-17) will travel to play the University of Arkansas Fort Smith (11-16, 9-12) in the final game of the season.

What to Know About OC 

  • Coach Markeith Brown is in his second season as the Lady Eagles head coach. 

  • The Eagles currently sit last in the East Division of the LSC. With the opportunity to jump over both teams, they play this week. 

  • Senior guard Asiyha Smith is making a mark in her first season as an Eagle, averaging 11.3 points per game and 2.6 assists. Smith has had five games scoring in double digits. Smith sits at 12th in the LSC leaders in blocked shots with 11 total blocks.

  • The Lady Eagles have also seen good production from redshirt sophomore Taylor Jackson, who, coming off the bench, has provided production on both ends of the court, including four games scoring at least 13 points and being a force on the boards.

  • Brooklin Bain has finished her career as a Lady Eagle basketball player. Bain has left an incredible mark on the program, capped off this past weekend by passing her mother - Misty (Mitchell) Bain, on the All-Time Rebounding list, jumping into the top 10. She is also now in the top 20 in scoring all-time. This season, she averaged 14.5 points per game on 44% shooting percentage, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game, and finished the year with 8 double-doubles. 

What to Know About UAFS 

  • Ryan McAdams has been the head coach of the Lions since July 2021. 

  • The Lions currently sit tied for the last spot in the Conference tournament with A&M-Kingsville.

  • A&M-Kingsville will play A&M International on Thursday, February 29th. With a Kingsville loss and a UAFS win, the Lions would get it. 

  • The Lions are led by junior guard Baylee Fincher. Fincher is averaging 10.3 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and a steal a game. 

  • The Lions are averaging 64.4 points per game as a team, with a shooting percentage of .399. 

Matchup Earlier This Season

  • Back in December the Eagles and the Lions played in the Nest, where the Lions pulled out a nail-biter 2-point victory over the Eagles. 

  • The Lions have four players score in double-figures. Sinetra Jones led the way with 12 points, Morgan Browning with 11 points, Baylee Fincher with 10 points, and Kayla Brundidge with 10 points.

  • The Eagles were led by a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double from Brooklin Bain. This was accompanied by a 17-point performance from Taylor Jackson
