Eagles to Host Lions in Season Home Opening Series

Oklahoma City, Okla- Oklahoma Christian (2-2) will host the University of Arkansas Fort Smith (0-0), starting Thursday, February 8th, playing four games, ending with a game Saturday, February 10th.

  • UAFS was picked to finish 13th in this season's Lone Star Conference preseason rankings. 

  • Outfielder Michael Brinton and right-handed pitcher Jakob Petross were named the player and pitcher to watch for the Lions. 

  • Petross appeared in 18 games last season, making six starts on the mound. He posted a 7.69 ERA and was second on the team with 51 strikeouts in 55.0 innings pitched. He allowed just three earned runs in his first 23.1 innings pitched last season out of the bullpen.

  • Brinton played in all 50 games last season, leading the Lions with 10 home runs and 37 RBIs. He batted .249 with 42 hits, 11 doubles, 32 runs, and five stolen bases. He had a two-homer game against Cameron in which he hit a first-inning grand slam.
