Jonesboro, Ark. - Women's Bowling went to the natural state for the Mid-Western Classic, hosted by Arkansas State University.
 
Baker Games
The Lady Eagles matched up with Vanderbilt to open the Mid-Winter Classic, falling 921-870. In game two they took on McKendree, picking up their first win of the 7-6 weekend, winning 965-957.
 
OC's third match was against Alabama A&M University, and they won by seven, for back-to-back wins. Game four paired them with Maryville, and the Saints took that one 961-942. In the fifth and final baker match, the Eagles took on Nebraska, and the Cornhuskers had one of the highest totals of the baker matches, posting a 1,119-896 win.
 
Traditional Games
Oklahoma Christian took down Alabama State, 898-856 to open the traditional matches. Newman had the upper hand in game seven, winning 975-901. The Eagles beat the Mules of Central Missouri 949-915, and then beat Grambling State 928-616.
 
The host school beat the Eagles in the final game, sending OC into the championship bracket as the 13-seed.
 
Championship Bracket
OC won in seven against Alabama State and followed that up with a 4-1 over Wisconsin Whitewater, before falling to Stephen F. Austin to take 12th place overall.
 
Thoughts from head coach James Hayes
The ladies faced some tough competition this weekend. I am proud of how they fought all weekend against one of the stronger fields that we have faced. They get a couple of weeks off now before sectionals.
