2024 All-South Central Region Women's Soccer Teams
DURANGO, Colo. - Oklahoma Christian's
Kyla Lovelace continued her postseason award run with First Team All-South Central Region honors, the Division II Conference Commissioners Association announced Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Lovelace becomes just the second OC women's soccer player to receive NCAA Division II First Team All-Region honors, joining Rubi Villegas Aguilar in 2015, and the program's third DIIÂ All-Region recipient overall. 2023's
Brooklyn Fink earned Second Team honors.
The All-Region nod comes a month after the Mustang, Okla. (
Mustang HS) native was named the 2024 Lone Star Conference Forward of the Year and a member of the All-Conference First Team. Lovelace was the only LSC forward to be recognized on the All-Region First Team.
With conference tournaments already finished as well as the first two rounds of the NCAA Division II Tournament, Lovelace is still tied for 10th in DII with 15 total goals while being tied for 24th in total points (31).
In addition to her play on the field, the Sooner State product was also tabbed a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree, advancing to the Academic All-America ballot, to be announced Tuesday, Dec. 10.
"Kyla has been such an amazing player and ambassador for our program," head coach
Evan Dresel said. "This year she had so many big moments for us but it is her commitment to her team first that will always stand out to me. She more than deserves this recognition!"
The 2024 Lone Star Conference Forward of the Year, First Team All-Conference selection and First Team All-Region honoree will now look to become the program's first ever All-American in any capacity in the DII era.
