RICHARDSON, Texas -
Pepe Hinterschuster led a group of four Eagles taking home All-Lone Star Conference hardware following the completion of the 2024 season.
Hinterschuster was named the LSC Freshman of the Year, along with landing on the Second Team as well as the All-Freshman Team.
Joep Claassen was the sole Eagle to be named First Team while
Ethan Nakolo joined Hinterschuster on the Second Team as well as the All-Freshman Team.
David Pepple made it three Eagles to be named to the All-Freshman Team. Oklahoma Christian had the second most nominees on the All-Freshman squad of any team in the LSC.
Hinterschuster made it two consecutive years Oklahoma Christian has produced the conference Freshman of the Year, joining
Ellis Jones from 2023. The two-time LSC Goalkeeper of the Week started all 17 matches for OC, playing 1520 minutes while recording 63 saves for third best in the conference, plus also delivering a league-second most five shutouts.
Joep Claassen headlined an Eagle defense which pitched those five shutouts to come with his First Team honor. Claassen, who also recorded two goals and two assists, finishes the final two years of his OC collegiate career as a two-time All-Conference selection after landing on the Second Team in 2023.
Nakolo and Pepple joined Hinterschuster to highlight Oklahoma Christian's standout freshman class this season. Nakolo was named the All-LSC Second Team as well as All-Freshman team after finishing second on the team with six goals, including a three-game stretch that saw him tally three goals and two assists.
As a freshman defender, Pepple stood as the last line of defense for an Eagles squad that pitched five shutouts and allowed the third fewest goals in the conference (21). In addition to his defense, Pepple also recorded two goals and one assist in his debut college season.
Hinterschuster, Claassen, Nakolo and Pepple will now advance to the All-Region voting. Last year, 2023 Freshman of the Year Jones became the first Eagle men's soccer player to ever be named First Team All-South Cental Region at the NCAA Division II level.
