SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Oklahoma Christian (2-2) volleyball battled through some adversity yesterday and didn't let that affect them today, notching a sweep on the final day of the Westminster Invitational hosted by Westminster University (UT).

Match one vs. Westminster University
Â
Set one: OC 18, WU 25
Â
Westminster jumped out to a 10-4 lead and kept OC at a distance outside of a three-kill run from
Giorgia Turri (2) and
Miranda Polanco (1), cutting the lead to 16-13.

Set two: OC 26, WU 24
Â
The Eagles traded blows with the Griffons until a 5-0 run gave them a 15-8 lead to create some distance in the set.
Alexa Grogan had two aces on the run to spark the Eagles' efforts. OC held off WU until they came back to tie the match at 24 all, but back-to-back kills from
Megan Rek and
Kathryn Christie gave OC a 26-24 set win to tie the match.

Set three: OC 25, WU 17
Â
This time, it was Oklahoma Christian that jumped out to lead that couldn't be reached, as they took an early 10-4 lead before leading the match by ten points at 24-14. Turri had five of her match-high 21 kills in the set to give the Eagles a 2-1 match advantage.

Set four: OC 15, WU 25
Â
OC took a quick 2-0 lead to open the set, but WU went on a 10-2 run to take a lead that they would give up.

Set five: OC 15, WU 8

The Eagles didn't take long to decide the fifth set and earn their first win of the season, taking an 8-5 midway through the set and ending it on a 5-0 run.
Camryn McGough ignited the run with back-to-back kills, a part of her ten kills in the match. Turri's 21st kill was the final one of the match to start OC's day with a win against the host school.

- Turri had her second double-double in as many days, recording one today with 21 kills and 12 digs, and she added two blocks.
- Lauren McClure again led the team in assists with 25.
- McGough led the team in blocks with four and had the second most kills with 10.
- Alexa Grogan had the most digs (19) and aces (3) to lead the Eagles in those categories.

Match two vs. Purdue University Northwest

Set one: OC 25, PNW 15
Â
OC took an 8-4 lead in the early stages of the set and didn't allow PNW to get any closer than that of the rest of the set. They took their largest lead at 18-10 on a Turri ace that followed a kill from her.

McClure and McGough put the set away with aces, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the match.

Set two: OC 23, PNW 25
Â
The Eagles held a 6-3 lead, but the Pride gained control in the middle of the match, taking a 14-11 lead. OC rallied to tie the set at 16-all with back-to-back kills from McGough and
Lily Saenz, and they took the lead at 19-18 with a block assist from Rek and Christie.

A Rek kill gave Oklahoma Christian a 21-19 lead and threatened to take a 2-0 match lead until a late 5-2 Purdue Northwest run tied the match at 1-1.

Set three: OC 25, PNW 19
Â
A 4-1 lead for the Eagles in set three quickly led to an exchange of points, tying the set at 6-6.

Kills from Rek and
Rainey Aven and an ace from Turri regained control for OC, giving them a 10-6 advantage.

A balanced attack from
Annie Davis, Christie, McGough, and three aces from Turri gave Oklahoma Christian the separation they needed to take a 2-1 match lead in a set they dominated.

Set four: OC 25, PNW 21
Â
OC and PNW traded points up to 8-8 before
Annie Davis took over the match with three straight kills, part of her team-high 14.

McGough, Saenz, and Davis led the Eagles the rest of the day, and McGough's 8th kill clinched the sweep of the day for the Eagles.
