LUBBOCK, Texas - Oklahoma Christian volleyball (4-2) returned to the road for the Chap Classic hosted by Lubbock Christian and opened it with matchups against Southern Arkansas (2-3) and Minot State (1-5).

Match one vs. Southern Arkansas (OC 3, SAU 0)

- OC, as a team, hit .350 in the opening match.
- Match-high 22 kills in set two.
- Giorgia Turri tied the school record for kills in a match with 19.

First set
The opening set traded points until a 19-19 tie when the Eagles went on a 3-0 run to create the separation needed to take the opening set of the weekend. Turri had eight of her team-high nineteen kills in the opening set and an ace in that closing run for the Eagles.

Second set
Southern Arkansas jumped out to a 4-2 lead to open the second set, but Oklahoma Christian used a 7-2 spark to take a 9-6 lead. OC looked to pull away at 18-12, but the Muleriders came storming back to take a set-point lead at 25-24.
Katy Geurin, who hit .419 over the match, went on a personal 3-0 run to take the set and end SAU's comeback hopes.

Third set
OC rode the momentum into the third set, taking an early lead until Southern Arkansas tied the set at 16 all. Three consecutive attack errors and a
Lauren McClure ace put the Eagles back on top at 20-16, and
Megan Rek closed the match with her sixth kill.

- The Eagles improved on their .350 hitting percentage in match one by hitting .415 in the second match.
- Giorgia Turri reached 100 points in her first six matches, with her performance in the second match.
- McGough led the team in blocks with six, bringing her weekend total to ten.
- Sara Freeman led in aces with three and added ten digs.
First set
Oklahoma Christian opened the match on a 5-0 run featuring a Freeman ace and a McGough kill. The Eagles didn't look back after the opening run, running away with the first set to the tune of 25-13.

Second set
The Beavers battled in the second set, tying the match at 8-8 on some early Eagles' errors. But the Eagles cleaned those up and closed the set on a 17-6 run to win set two, 25-14.
Annie Davis,
Shelby Martin, and a McGough ace closed out the set for OC.

Third set
Kathryn Christie opened set three with two kills, and Oklahoma Christian put on a clinic en route to a 25-8 match-sealing set.
