LSC Release
RICHARDSON, Texas - The Lone Star Conference announced the 2023 men's soccer preseason poll, and Oklahoma Christian was tabbed 5th after finishing in 5th place before advancing to the Lone Star Conference Championships championship match last season.
The poll is voted on by LSC coaches, sports information directors, and a media representative from each school. OC finished the voting with 192 points, finishing ahead of Lubbock Christian at 155 points and behind Dallas Baptist, who tallied 207 points.
The conference also announced a Players to Watch list featuring an offensive player, a defensive player, and a goalkeeper from each school to highlight for the upcoming season. Representing OC on the list as the defensive player to watch was sophomore
Elliott Forestier, junior
Isaias Silva made the list as the offensive player and another sophomore
Daniel Hosier was named the goalkeeper to watch.
Forestier helped lead a strong back line last season while also scoring two goals and tallying one assist. Silva scored four goals, added four assists, and finished in the top 10 in the conference in multiple categories. Hosier made seven starts last season, making seventeen saves with a career-high of six against West Texas A&M, and was a part of two shutouts.
