Eagles win the final home game of the season with an offensive outburst

Box Score Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Eagles' offense broke out for thirteen runs, and several solid pitching performances led OC to a win over Cameron in the final home game of the season.

Cameron jumped out to a 2-0 lead scoring two runs on three hits and an error, all with two outs.

Oklahoma Christian responded quickly as Hank Heiselbetz reached base on a leadoff single, moving to second on a Preston King sacrifice bunt, and advanced to third when Blake Empkey reached base on a fielding error.

Empkey stole second base putting runners on second and third, and a wild pitch got by the catcher, allowing Heiselbetz to get OC on the board. Marcus Johnson tied the game by registering his 26th RBI of the season, scoring Heiselbetz on a ground out.

The Aggies took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third, scoring a 6-4-3 double play, after back-to-back walks to lead off the inning.

Heiselbetz led off the bottom of the third with a single and stole second base, and Jayvien Joesph and Hunter Jones walked to load the bases for Ethan Box. Box took advantage of the runners on, picking two RBIs on a single through the left side of the infield.

A five-run bottom of the fourth blew open the game for OC, scoring five runs on two hits. Jaren Hill hit a solo bomb to left field to start the inning, then consecutive walks from Grant Lake and Empkey led to them scoring after two wild pitches and a balk. Chance Westervelt brought the final two runs of the inning home on a two-RBI single, giving OC a 9-3 lead.

CU hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth to bring the score to 9-4.

Lake worked a walk to lead off the inning, Joesph and Empkey reached base on consecutive singles, and Empkey's single scored Lake, for his 32 RBI of the season. Hunter Jones secured another run for OC with a sacrifice fly RBI, and Box added another run on an RBI single.

John Skweres had a great outing in relief, striking out four Aggies, and putting him in position for his first win of the season.

In the bottom of the sixth, Westervelt worked a walk with the bases loaded to score the Eagles' final run of the game, giving them a 13-4 lead.

A two-run shot in the 7th inning brought the game to 13-6 before Gabe Dixon and Matthew Shira shut the Aggies down the rest of the way.

* The stat file corrupted in the 8th inning, messing up OC's stats, and will be corrected in the next 24 hours.
