Lady Eagles Open up Conference Play Hosting the Chaps on Thursday

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla- Oklahoma Christian (1-3) is set to open up Lone Star Conference play by hosting Lubbock Christian (5-2) on Thursday afternoon in The Nest beginning at 5:30 p.m.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT OC 

  • Head Coach Markeith Brown enters his second season with the Lady Eagles. 

  • The Eagles returned nine players from last season, including the team's leading scorer and leading rebounder, Brooklin Bain.

  • The Eagles were picked ninth in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll, the second-highest preseason voting since joining the conference. 

  • Brooklin Bain and Asiyha Smith lead the Eagles in scoring, both averaging over 10 points a game. 

  • Bain and Ahniya Melton are leading the team in rebounding. Bain is averaging just over 7 boards a game and Melton is just under 4 rebounds a game. 

  • Kate Bradley, Brooklin Bain, and Asiyha Smith all lead the team with 8 assists so far this season, and each averages 2 a game. 

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT LCU 

  • Head Coach Steve Gomez is in his 21st season at LCU and holds an overall record of 500-143. 

  • Last year, the Chaps finished with an overall record of 24-11 and a conference record of 16-6. 

  • The Chaps were one win away from reaching the Elite Eight last year. 

  • LCU is led by the scoring of Grace Foster, Maci Maddox, and Audrey Robertson who are all averaging over 10 points a game. 

  • Foster is also the Chaps' leading rebounder, averaging 6.1 boards a game.
