COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced the 2023 All-Region teams on Tuesday morning in Colorado Springs, and for the first time, the first team included an Oklahoma Christian Eagle.
Athletic communication professionals from the NCAA Division II South Central Region schools and conferences selected the D2CCA All‐Region teams. The process concludes with All‐American selections, which will be announced in December.
Ellis Jones added another accolade to his impressive freshman season, this time by becoming the first Oklahoma Christian men's soccer player to earn First Team All-South Central Region honors at the Division II level.
Jones led the Eagles in goals with five and points with ten, while being a dominant presence on the back line for OC's defense that forced four shutouts this season.
Ellis was previously named the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and All-Freshman team. The First Team All-Region and LSC Freshman of the Year were firsts for men's soccer in the Division II era.
