OC women finish 7th in ITC Sectional Qualifier

DALLAS (March 13, 2022) – Oklahoma Christian's women's team fell two spots to seventh on the final day of the Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectional Qualifier on Sunday at USA Bowl in Dallas, ending the Eagles' season.

The Eagles started the day fifth in the 14-team field, just one spot out of advancing to the ITC national event next month in Addison, Ill. But OC started slow, posting team scores of 148, 110 and 143 among their first four Baker games on Sunday to slip into sixth and they weren't able to recover.

By the end of the first block of 16 Baker games, they had fallen to seventh and they held that position through the final block of 16 games. OC, which qualified for the sectional event for the fourth time in as many seasons the program has existed, finished with an overall score of 11,723 in 64 games over two days.

Sam Houston State won with a score of 12,783 and Tulane, Stephen F. Austin and Wichita State also advanced to the national event.

"The ladies bowled well all weekend," OC coach James Hayes said. "It was a good learning experience for them. The future looks bright on the ladies' side."
