Playing its first road games of the season, OC (14-7, 3-3 Lone Star Conference) also took advantage of 13 errors by TAMIU (7-18, 1-5) – six in the first game, seven in the second – while seizing control early and never letting up.
Aaliyah Brown's two-run single keyed a three-run second inning in the opener for OC against TAMIU starter Darrian Smith and the Eagles added two more runs in the third on just one hit, as Smith (6-6) walked two batters and threw two wild pitches and the Dustdevils committed an error.
The Dustdevils pulled within 5-3 in the fifth inning, but OC broke the game open in the top of the seventh, scoring seven runs.
Tristyn Hamilton delivered the big blow, a two-run triple. OC starter
Kali Crandall (7-5) picked up the pitching win, throwing 4 1/3 innings before being relieved by

Briana Arredondo's two-run homer pulled TAMIU within 6-2 in the bottom of the fourth, but the Eagles tacked on two more runs in both the fifth and sixth innings and three more in the seventh.

OC will visit No. 9-ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville on Sunday for a noon doubleheader. It will be the Eagles' first trip to Kingsville since 2019, when OC advanced to the final of the Division II South Central Regional in its first NCAA postseason appearance.
