DALLAS (Jan. 22, 2022) – With a rally in her fifth and final game, freshman
Jordan Corbett earned a spot in the history book of Oklahoma Christian's women's bowling program on Saturday.
Corbett, from Owasso, became the first female OC bowler in the program's four-season history to win a tournament title, taking top honors in the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Circuit V at USA Bowl. Corbett posted a score of 1,065, 10 pins better than the runner-up Allison Szweczyk of Newman (Kan.).
The difference was the final game – Corbett rolled a 234, Szewczyk a 204. Corbett earlier had rolled games of 210, 273 and 201 to set herself up for a shot at the title.
She played a key role as the Eagles took second in the seven-team Tier II event. Through five team games and 12 Baker games, OC posted a score of 6,996, trailing only Wichita State, which won with a score of 7,248.

In addition to Corbett, three other Eagles finished in the top 15 of the 53-woman field. Sophomore
Claire McDermott of Harrisburg, Ill., took ninth at 921 after rolling games of 209, 202 and 204. Sophomore
Morgan Pelkie of Sarnia, Ontario, finished 11th at 917, with a top game of 222. Freshman
Liberty Pierce of Kingwood, Texas, was 13th at 904, with a top game of 200.
Shelby Davis, a freshman from La Porte, Texas, contributed a 241 toward OC's team total.
The Eagles will play on Sunday in the SWIBC VI tournament at Plano Super Bowl in Plano, Texas.
