BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (July 20, 2021) – Former Oklahoma Christian baseball player Caleb Price's run through the Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship ended in the round of 16 on Tuesday morning at Cedar Ridge Country Club.
Price, seeded 18th, fell to No. 63 seed Austin Hannah of Tulsa 7 and 6. Hannah is a former collegiate golfer at Oral Roberts, while Price, who's from Edmond, didn't play college golf – although he did star for OC on the diamond from 2009 to 2012. He was named as an Academic All-District selection in 2012 by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Just to qualify for the 64-man field, Price had to survive a qualifying round earlier this month at Lincoln Park Golf Club in Oklahoma City. On Monday, he beat two current collegiate players in match play – Carlos Gomez of Tulsa, a rising junior at Northeastern State, 3 and 2 and Delbert Brooks of Tulsa, a rising sophomore at Oral Roberts, 2 and 1.
